Cultural Heritage
Ashta Chamma is one of India's classic cross-and-circle board games, enjoyed in different forms across regions and languages for generations. Known by many names — Chauka Bara, Chowka Bhara, Daayam — it has been a part of Indian family life long before the first video game was ever made.
This version preserves the spirit of the original while making it accessible online for modern players. The rules are authentic. The pace is yours.
Quick Start
A full game typically runs 15–25 minutes. The rules click within your first two turns.
Tap to roll. Values 1–4 and 8 are possible. Rolling 4 or 8 earns a bonus roll. Three bonus rolls in a row forfeits your turn.
Select a move chip, then tap a pawn to apply it. Spread across multiple pawns or pile onto one for speed. Every roll must be used.
Capture an opponent to unlock the inner ring. Land exactly on the center square. First to bring all four pawns home wins.
For Everyone
Whether you grew up with Ashta Chamma or are discovering it for the first time, the experience is designed to bring people together — a quick match after dinner, a childhood memory revisited, or a new tradition just beginning.
